Main Role Objective

The Marketing Account Manager is the bridge between Big Ambitions and its customer, Wetu. They are the point of contact for Big Ambitions and the individual who helps to define and implement the customer’s marketing, PR and communications strategy and tactics. The Marketing Account Manager is required to be well versed in marketing and has a good understanding of analytics, interpreting them and using this to define the marketing mix for Wetu. They should be resourceful, have a can-do, creative approach to problem solving and be able to think critically, multi-task and project manage. They proactively suggest ways to streamline and improve campaigns, tactics and output to achieve Wetu’s marketing objectives and fundamentally their business goals.

This Role is NOT For You If:

This role is not for you if you wait to be told what to do, are looking for a 9 to 5 job where you can check-out, outside of ‘normal’ working hours and want strong corporate structures and culture. Both companies have an entrepreneurial and growth mindset, and you will be required to fly the plane and fix it midair, so if you need a great deal of guidance to get going and lots of support and encouragement, this is not the right role for you.

How You’ll Be Evaluated In This Role:

  • KPIs
    • Develop and roll out customer strategy
      • Wetu has a marketing, comms workplan with KPIs
      • Each member of the team understands their role in delivering on that workplan and delivers on this thanks to your excellent project management
      • Client report is aligned with workplan and clearly outlines progress in achieving KPIs
      • You have a strong marketing mix of Earned, Shared and Owned
    • Actively identify and pursue tactical opportunities on behalf of client
      • Customer feels you are fully invested in their success
      • Your client feels that you are on top of opportunities at all times
      • NPS & feedback are favourable
      • Your team feels you are the go-to person on behalf of Wetu / Big Ambitions
      • You are asked by 3rd parties for your opinion, ideas, views to be shared a public space

  • Reviews:
    • 3 Month Trial Review
      • Weekly review in the first month, with monthly reviews thereafter to assess success in role and set-up areas of development in subsequent months.
      • You will have to illustrate that you can be trusted to do the job adequately without needing to be followed up with.
    • For your review, you will be asked to score yourself against your role profile and company values, which will be counter-scored by 2 staff members who work with you.
